SGMW’s Wuling brand has officially unveiled the Xingguang 730, a brand-new mid-size multi-purpose vehicle aimed at families seeking versatility, modern features, and multiple powertrain choices. The MPV launches with four distinct variants: the entry-level 1.5T Comfort model equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, the 1.5T Elite version paired with a CVT, a plug-in hybrid option offering 125 km of pure electric driving, and finally a fully electric model capable of traveling up to 500 km on a single charge. Pricing is aggressively positioned to attract budget-conscious buyers, starting at $10,200 for the base gasoline model, $11,700 for the CVT version, $14,500 for the hybrid, and $15,400 for the pure EV variant. Across the lineup, Wuling equips the vehicle with its advanced Lingxi Power 3.0 technology and Shenlian battery systems, while ensuring that more than 50 features are shared between the gasoline-powered and electrified versions.

The exterior design of the Xingguang 730 represents Wuling’s latest design direction. Dominating the front is a wide, darkened mesh grille complemented by slim, sharply contoured headlights that deliver a sophisticated and confident appearance. Along the sides, the vehicle adopts a sliding door layout, with the track cleverly integrated beneath the side windows for a cleaner aesthetic. The MPV’s body measures 4910 mm long, 1850 mm wide, and 1770 mm tall, riding on a 2910 mm wheelbase—dimensions that position it firmly in the mid-size MPV segment. Buyers can choose from four stylish exterior paint options: Smoke Grey, Silver Frost White, Obsidian Black, and Twilight Purple.

Moving into the cabin, Wuling has outfitted the Xingguang 730 with a modern, user-friendly interior featuring a floating digital instrument panel and a 12.8-inch central touchscreen capable of intelligent vehicle connectivity. The interior is designed to adapt to multiple usage scenarios thanks to built-in modes such as “nap mode,” “camping mode,” and “off-car power retention,” which help tailor the vehicle’s environment to different needs. Seating is arranged in a practical 2+2+3 seven-seat layout. All seats offer a range of adjustment options, with the front row capable of reclining fully to create a flat sleeping surface. The second row includes dual armrests and supports various recline angles for added comfort. Practicality is further enhanced by 25 storage compartments distributed throughout the MPV. The third row incorporates a “magic folding” mechanism that allows the backrests to fold flat and the seat cushions to flip up, increasing cargo capacity from 315 liters to a spacious 1202 liters. Interior colors include Walnut Brown and Warm Sand Brown, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Under the hood, the Xingguang 730 offers three powertrain paths: plug-in hybrid, fully electric, and gasoline. The PHEV features Lingxi Power 3.0, which pairs a 1.5-liter combustion engine with a fourth-generation 10-in-1 integrated electric drive unit. This configuration delivers impressive efficiency, achieving just 5.3 liters per 100 km in fuel consumption, along with 125 km of EV-only driving and a total driving range of 1100 km. The pure electric model comes equipped with a 134-hp motor and a 60 kWh Shenlian battery, enabling up to 500 km of electric range. It also accepts 2C fast charging, allowing drivers to add 200 km of range in only 15 minutes. Lastly, the gasoline version uses a 1.5-liter turbo engine generating 174 hp, paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.
