Toyota Sends Off GR Supra With Powerful A90 Final Edition

The Toyota GR Supra is approaching the end of its production run, but the brand has ensured that fans receive a fitting farewell before the iconic sports car bows out. As part of its closing chapter, Toyota has introduced a highly exclusive edition limited to only 300 units across Japan and Europe. This special version brings a stronger engine, more focused suspension tuning, upgraded braking hardware, and a generous amount of carbon fiber. Alongside it, Toyota is also offering the GR Supra Lightweight Evo, which receives subtle aerodynamic and chassis enhancements to mark the final year of the current generation.

The centerpiece of the goodbye lineup is the A90 Final Edition, a model engineered to elevate nearly every aspect of the standard Supra. Under the hood sits an enhanced version of the BMW-derived turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, now tuned to deliver 429 hp and 570 Nm of torque. This is no mild increase. Engineers fitted the engine with a redesigned air intake, a freer-flowing catalyst, and recalibrated engine software to achieve a notable jump of 94 hp and 70 Nm over the regular GR Supra. Additional mechanical improvements include a modified oil pan featuring a baffle plate for stable lubrication during high-g driving, improved cooling components, and an upgraded active differential. The finishing touch comes from an Akrapovič titanium exhaust, designed to enhance both performance and sound quality.

Handling sees major attention as well, with the car borrowing lessons from the GR Supra GT4 racecar. The Final Edition features KW dampers with adjustable settings, reinforced stabilizers, and strengthened suspension joints. Toyota Gazoo Racing also increased wheel camber to sharpen cornering performance. Lightweight wheels—19 inches up front and 20 inches at the rear—are paired with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires for maximum road holding. Braking power comes from large 19-inch Brembo units, equipped with high-friction pads and drilled floating discs at all four corners.

Visually, Toyota did not attach the GRMN badge as some enthusiasts expected, but the A90 Final Edition still adopts serious track-inspired styling. Highlights include a carbon fiber swan-neck wing, a vented hood, an aggressive front splitter with canards, and dual tailpipes designed to create an afterburner-style visual effect.

Inside the cabin, the motorsport influence continues. Drivers are greeted by carbon fiber Recaro Podium CF bucket seats wrapped in Alcantara. The driver’s seat, seatbelts, door trim, and center console feature red accents, while the passenger seat and most of the remaining interior surfaces are finished in black with extensive Alcantara and carbon fiber detailing.

Beyond this ultra-limited version, Toyota has also revealed an updated GR Supra for its final sales year in markets such as Europe, Japan, and Australia. Marketed as the Lightweight Evo in Europe and the Track Edition in Australia, it benefits from aerodynamic tweaks including a new carbon fiber ducktail spoiler and reshaped front-fender vents. It rides on 19-inch matte-black forged wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The interior receives Alcantara upholstery, red stitching, and matching belts.

Mechanical updates include revised electronic dampers, reinforced suspension bushings and mounts, stronger stabilizers, and upgraded underfloor bracing for increased rigidity. A reworked active differential improves stability and traction, while the electric power steering, wheel camber, and brake disc size have all been optimized. The 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder continues unchanged with 382 hp and 500 Nm, and buyers may choose between a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.

Standard GR Supra models—with both 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 3.0-liter six-cylinder engines—remain available in Japan and Europe. In the U.S., the 2026 lineup will consist of the 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and a country-exclusive Final Edition, which focuses on chassis and aero improvements rather than power increases. Orders have opened in Europe and Japan, though the limited A90 Final Edition lottery has already concluded.

Even as the current generation ends, Toyota assures enthusiasts that the Supra’s presence in motorsport will continue. Since its launch in 2019 and subsequent updates in 2020 and 2022, the A90 Supra has played a key role for the brand—and Toyota has already confirmed that a next-generation Supra is indeed on the horizon.
