Mahindra has unveiled an updated version of its BE6 electric SUV, arriving roughly a year after the original model launched in India. Dubbed the BE6 Formula E Edition, this special variant celebrates Mahindra’s ongoing involvement in the FIA Formula E championship, bringing a combination of aesthetic and functional updates that set it apart from the standard SUV. Unlike many automakers, which often limit special editions to new paint schemes, wheels, or graphics, Mahindra has gone further, reshaping body panels and adding design elements that give the BE6 Formula E Edition a more aggressive and dynamic presence on the road.
At the front, the SUV sports a unique bumper design flanked by round LED headlights and sharply sculpted detailing. A newly designed skid plate and extensive dark liquid metal cladding enhance its rugged, rally-inspired appearance, giving it a more adventurous look than a typical Formula E-inspired model. The rear receives a redesigned bumper and a double spoiler, while vertical LED elements have been streamlined for a cleaner visual profile. The BE6 Formula E Edition rolls on 20-inch alloy wheels, though buyers can opt for the 19-inch wheels from the standard BE6 if preferred. Along the side, the glass roof and pillars are adorned with racing-inspired graphics, which complement the four body color choices: Everest White, Firestorm Orange, Tango Red, and Stealth Black.
Branding cues reinforce the Formula E theme, including Formula E badges on the front fenders and a custom logo on the windshield. Inside, the cabin combines black upholstery with Firestorm Orange accents, FIA-branded seat belts, and a commemorative plaque, while the dashboard features the Formula E logo and a bespoke startup animation. Equipment levels remain generous, with a digital instrument cluster, dual wireless chargers, a Harman Kardon audio system, and a full ADAS suite for driver assistance.
Mechanically, the BE6 Formula E Edition mirrors the high-spec BE6. A rear-mounted electric motor produces 282 hp and 380 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 202 km/h. Power comes from a 79 kWh battery, providing an estimated 500 km of real-world range. The top-of-the-line FE3 trim adds adaptive suspension as standard, making it the most advanced BE6 variant to date.
Pricing starts at $26,500 for the FE2 trim, rising to $27,400 for the fully equipped FE3. Unlike Mahindra’s previous Batman Edition, this special variant will be widely available, though it remains exclusive to India. Orders open on January 14, 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin by February 14. For younger enthusiasts, Mahindra will also offer a BE6 Formula E Ride-On toddler car, set to arrive in April 2026 for $200, allowing families to share the excitement of the Formula E experience.
