Geely has refreshed its Haoyue L SUV for the Chinese market at a time when competition in the 10,000 to 15,000 USD fuel-powered SUV segment is becoming increasingly fierce. This part of the market heavily prioritizes flexible seating configurations and affordable starting prices, two qualities that are especially important for families seeking spacious yet budget-friendly vehicles. The updated Haoyue L, which officially launched on November 27, enters dealerships in four different trims. These versions are priced between 99,900 yuan and 129,900 yuan—roughly 14,120 USD to 18,330 USD. For the initial sales period, Geely is offering even lower promotional pricing ranging from $12,690 to $16,930, making the model more appealing for early buyers.
On the outside, the revised Haoyue L receives several styling adjustments. Geely has fitted a newly shaped polygonal front grille, paired with a redesigned bumper and enlarged decorative air vents. The brand’s signature upright grille bars continue to be part of the vehicle’s visual identity. Despite these cosmetic updates, its core dimensions remain unchanged: 4865 mm in length, 1910 mm in width, 1770 mm in height, and a 2825-mm wheelbase. Higher-grade variants ride on 20-inch wheels, while the more affordable trims retain 19-inch alloy wheels. Buyers can choose from four exterior colour options.
Inside the cabin, Geely has focused on improving practicality and comfort for families. The interior now features expanded soft-touch surfaces and a tech-centered layout dominated by a 14.6-inch central display and a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. The Haoyue L also integrates the Flyme Auto system, which includes smartphone connectivity and online navigation. Two interior colour schemes are available, giving customers some degree of personalization. Upper-level trims offer a wide suite of Level 2 driver-assistance technologies, such as adaptive cruise control, forward-collision alerts, lane-keeping assistance, and a 540-degree camera array that provides an under-body view for enhanced low-speed maneuvering.
One of the most significant improvements in this update is the expansion of interior seating flexibility. The Haoyue L is now offered in five-seat, six-seat, and seven-seat arrangements. The six-seat version features two comfortable captain’s chairs in the second row, each equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage functions—a notable feature in this price segment. When buyers opt for the seven-seat configuration, the third row can be folded flat to free up cargo space, increasing total rear storage capacity to a generous 2050 litres.
Powertrain choices remain familiar but refined. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine now generates 133 kW and 290 Nm, while the 2.0-litre turbo delivers 160 kW and 325 Nm. Both engines are mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and come standard with front-wheel drive. Suspension hardware stays the same, with a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a multi-link layout at the rear.
The Haoyue lineup has occupied an important position in Geely’s mid-size SUV family since its debut in 2020. The “Haoyue L” designation was first introduced in 2022 as a more robust and better-equipped evolution of the original model. The 2026 version continues this strategy by offering greater configuration versatility and lowering the temporary entry price to attract more budget-minded customers. In China’s crowded mid-size SUV market, its primary competitors include the Chery Tiggo 8, Jetour X70 series, Haval H6L, and several other gasoline-powered SUVs.
