At the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, Chery’s Jetour brand introduced a special new model—the Zongheng G700 Taklimakan Rally Edition—marking the first time this version has been shown anywhere in the world. This rugged, rally-themed model comes in two configurations, both offered at promotional launch prices ranging from 334,900 to 354,900 yuan (roughly 47,030 to 49,700 USD). Once this introductory period ends, the official retail prices will rise to 359,900 and 379,900 yuan respectively. According to information shared by IT-Home, Jetour emphasizes that this particular edition merges proven rally-grade hardware with modern smart-cabin technologies, offering a blend designed for enthusiasts who want both capability and comfort.

G700 Taklimakan Edition

The exterior design of the Taklimakan Rally Edition reflects its motorsport inspiration. The G700 is finished in a striking, high-saturation red color said to be 10 percent more vivid than traditional paint options, helping the SUV stand out both on the road and in harsh environments. Complementing its bold appearance, the model equips a robust underbody shield constructed from a 5-millimeter-thick aluminum-magnesium alloy. This protective plate uses integrated stamping techniques with reinforced ribbing to increase rigidity. Jetour claims that compared to standard steel plates, this alloy guard is 15 percent lighter yet 30 percent stronger, able to endure impacts up to 210 MPa. Additionally, its inherent material properties provide up to five times better corrosion resistance—achieved even without additional coating—making it particularly suitable for high-wear off-road use.

Performance-focused hardware continues with its chassis and tire setup. The SUV comes fitted with 64-stage adjustable nitrogen shock absorbers, allowing drivers to fine-tune suspension performance for different terrains, from gravel and dunes to paved roads. It also rides on Black Bear 265/70 R18 all-terrain tires—components that Jetour notes were selected based on real rally racing experience to ensure grip, durability, and stability during extreme conditions.

Jetour also confirmed the mechanical specifications in the official announcement. Powering the G700 Taklimakan Rally Edition is a front-mounted 2.0-liter turbocharged hybrid engine. The internal combustion engine alone produces 155 kW, but when combined with the electric components, the total system output reaches an impressive 560 kW and 795 Nm of torque. Jetour highlights that this powertrain is engineered to deliver strong, responsive performance on paved roads while retaining the toughness required for demanding off-road adventures.

Inside the cabin, the G700 features a technology-heavy interior built around a massive 35.4-inch integrated digital display stretching across the dashboard. It is also equipped with the Huawei Qian Kun ADS 4 intelligent driving system, incorporating 27 sensors that provide high-precision perception in all driving scenarios. Comfort features include multi-layer leather seats that support heating, ventilation, leg support, and an eight-point massage function. Audio quality is heightened by a Lescon premium sound system, showcased at the event in an immersive 7.1.4-channel configuration.

In terms of size, Jetour states that the G700 measures 5,198 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width, and 1,956 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. These large dimensions categorize it firmly among full-size luxury off-road SUVs, offering generous interior space while reinforcing its capability-focused design.
