At the 2025 Guangzhou International Auto Show, Great Wall Motors introduced the updated 2026 Cannon pickup family, unveiling revised versions of the Passenger, Commercial, and Off-road models. The refreshed lineup brings revised styling, stronger platforms, and significant upgrades in powertrains, technology, and durability. According to IT-Home, pricing begins at around $14,100, making the range highly competitive in the global pickup market.
The 2026 Commercial Cannon is the most affordable model, with prices ranging from approximately $14,100 to $20,150. Built on GWM’s rugged “tank” platform, it now features a dual-power diesel configuration, offering buyers either a 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission or a 2.0-litre turbo diesel matched to an 8-speed automatic. The gasoline versions have also been upgraded to higher-performance specifications. Structurally, the pickup employs a reinforced ladder-type frame made from thickened high-strength steel. This works together with a heavy-duty 3+2 leaf-spring setup to significantly increase payload capability. Safety enhancements include stronger side-door protective beams, a robust cage-style body frame, and automatic fuel cut-off and door unlocking in the event of a collision. Lighting has been improved as well, with dual-lens LED split headlights and additional fog lamps in the front bumper. The model also receives 18-inch wheels fitted with 255/65 R18 tyres to boost road grip and stability. Specialized variants cater to unique environments: a mountain-edition model includes all-terrain tyres, hill-start assist, and a full 360-degree camera system, while a cold-region version adds heated seats and a heated steering wheel. Buyers can also take advantage of several incentives, including a cash rebate of $845, a trade-in discount of $705, and a loyalty reward of $425, along with financing and service bundles.
The Passenger Cannon sits one tier higher, with prices between roughly $17,880 and $23,820. It continues to use the 2.4-litre turbo engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission in a more powerful gasoline tune. The interior receives notable upgrades, starting with GWM’s latest “Coffee OS 3” smart cockpit system, which the company claims is among the most sophisticated in the pickup segment. Its connectivity suite supports Huawei HiCar, Honour systems, ICCOA Carlink, and Apple CarPlay, enabling seamless cross-device compatibility. The voice-assistant technology reacts in as little as 250 milliseconds and supports context-aware commands as well as “point-and-speak” interactions. The dashboard features a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, while the center stack houses a large 14.6-inch touchscreen designed with anti-glare, anti-smudge, and anti-reflective coatings. The infotainment hardware includes 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. For safety and convenience, the Passenger Cannon includes a panoramic 360-degree camera system and a transparent-chassis feature that allows drivers to view obstacles beneath the vehicle.
The Off-road Cannon represents the highest tier in the lineup, priced between about $25,380 and $26,630. This variant is equipped with a 2.4-litre diesel engine delivering 135 kW of power and 480 Nm of torque. Its four-wheel-drive system is built on BorgWarner’s 4A+MLOCK platform and features three mechanical differential locks to maximize off-road capability. A factory-installed 9,500-lb wireless T-MAX winch further strengthens its rescue and recovery performance. The truck includes a tank-turn function for tight trails, a crawling mode for controlled low-speed maneuvering, and nine selectable drive modes: economy, standard, sport, snow, mud, sand, 4L, rock, and expert. Enthusiasts seeking even more capability can optionally equip K-MAN nitrogen dampers and BFGoodrich tires, all of which meet legal road-registration standards. Buyers also receive incentives such as a $1,410 cash rebate, a $1,410 trade-in benefit, a $705 referral bonus, and additional financial, service, and connectivity gifts.
