BYD has officially presented the BYD Ti7, its newest family-focused plug-in hybrid SUV, at the 2025 Bangkok Motor Expo, positioning it as the brand’s latest global model. After achieving remarkable success in China—where it sold an impressive 50,000 units within just 80 days—the company is optimistic that the Ti7 will replicate its strong performance across international markets as well.

At the Bangkok show, the Ti7 was showcased as an “Urban SUV” equipped with BYD’s advanced DM 5.0 hybrid system and four-wheel drive capability. The particular unit displayed was originally built for the Chinese market before being exported to Thailand, which is why it features left-hand drive configuration and carries Chinese-language badging throughout the exterior. Its overall design adopts a modern and rugged theme, incorporating a load-bearing body structure combined with the brand’s newest visual identity. The SUV has a distinctly boxy silhouette, supported by a flat roofline and pronounced wheel arches. The front of the vehicle is fitted with matrix-style LED headlights, giving it a sharp and high-tech appearance. At the rear, the Ti7 stands out with its side-opening tailgate, which also integrates an additional storage compartment. Other exterior highlights include traditional door handles, 20-inch darkened alloy wheels, a built-in LiDAR unit, and large protective bumpers. BYD lists its dimensions as 4,999 mm long, 1,995 mm wide, and 1,865 mm tall, placing it firmly in the mid-to-large SUV segment.

Inside, the Ti7 adopts a bright, minimalist cabin dominated by a white interior theme. One of the most distinctive interior features is the impressive number of screens—seven in total. These include a 15.6-inch rotating central infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 26-inch widescreen head-up display, two dedicated climate control displays, and a pair of 13-inch BYD Pads for rear passengers. Comfort-oriented amenities include a large panoramic glass roof, 20-speaker audio system, and customizable ambient lighting. At this stage, the model is offered exclusively with a five-seat configuration, emphasizing spaciousness and comfort.

The Ti7 variant exhibited at the motor show represents the flagship trim, equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel-drive system. Its hybrid setup pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 154 horsepower with two electric motors delivering a combined output of 360 kW (483 hp). The vehicle features a 35.6 kWh LFP battery, enabling an electric-only driving range of 190 km under the CLTC standard. Performance is one of its strengths—the Ti7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and comes with a torque-vectoring system for improved handling.

In China, the SUV is marketed as the Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 (also known as Tai 7 or Titanium 7), priced between $25,410 and $31,060. Sales figures have been exceptional: China EV DataTracker reports 28,152 units delivered between September and October, meaning more than 21,850 units were sold in November alone. Now, BYD is looking to build on this momentum by bringing the model to international markets.

Although BYD has not yet announced an official global launch date, the Ti7’s appearance in Thailand strongly suggests that its worldwide rollout could begin as early as next year.
