Avatr has officially introduced the refreshed 2025 Avatr 12 sedan, bringing a renewed version of its mid-to-large luxury four-door model to the Chinese market. The updated lineup consists of six variants, split between pure electric (EV) and extended-range electric (EREV) configurations. Recent sales data shows that the Avatr 12 recorded 2,111 units sold in April, with a total of 5,220 deliveries so far in 2025. These modest sales figures suggest that the brand may have accelerated this update cycle in hopes of increasing market interest and improving the model’s momentum. One unexpected detail from the launch event was the absence of an aerodynamic drag coefficient announcement—something usually highlighted for EVs—which has sparked conversation and speculation among consumers and industry observers.
The 2025 update focuses primarily on simplifying and improving the trim structure across the six available versions. Among the new additions is a distinctive Dai Red interior theme inspired by classic Chinese colour traditions. Another notable change is the introduction of the 20-inch “Spinning Blade” wheels—first made popular by the Avatr 11—now available as an option for the Avatr 12. The Ultra EREV variant also gains a set of intelligent electric doors and welcome-lighting projections on the front doors. Dimensionally, the Avatr 12 measures 5,020 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, paired with a wheelbase of 3,020 mm. Its overall styling continues to reflect Avatr’s “Future Elegance” design strategy. Key exterior elements include a coupe-inspired roofline, flush-fitting door handles, a powered rear spoiler, and sleek, narrow rear lights. Higher-end trims can also be configured with electronic digital mirrors in place of traditional side mirrors.
Inside the vehicle, the Avatr 12 maintains its premium technology-forward cabin layout. A vast 35.4-inch 4K ultra-wide display dominates the dashboard, complemented by a 15.6-inch infotainment screen running Harmony OS. All trim levels come standard with front zero-gravity seats that support heating, cooling, and massage. Rear-seat occupants are treated to a floating overhead canopy screen and full-function seats, offering roughly one meter of legroom for a lounge-like experience. High-quality materials—such as Nappa leather, suede-like surfaces, and natural wood—emphasize the luxurious feel of the interior. Because the vehicle lacks a traditional rear window, every version comes equipped with a digital streaming rearview mirror for enhanced visibility.
On the technology front, the Avatr 12 features Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 intelligent driving system. It incorporates a high-spec “triple LiDAR” setup, with three long-range sensors providing up to 300 degrees of horizontal coverage and 25 degrees vertically, along with a maximum side-detection range of 150 meters. Altogether, the sedan is equipped with 29 sensors. The system supports Huawei’s full-scenario automated parking (VPD) and is paired with the Qiankun omnidirectional anti-collision CAS 3.0 suite, which includes full-speed automatic emergency braking and enhanced obstacle-avoidance capabilities.
Built on an 800-volt platform, the 2025 Avatr 12 offers strong performance across its powertrain options. The EREV model features a 231 kW electric motor and delivers a CLTC electric-only range of about 245 km, along with a total driving range of 1,155 km when factoring in the range extender. The pure electric rear-wheel-drive version produces 237 kW and provides a CLTC range of 755 km. The performance-oriented AWD model uses advanced silicon-carbide motors generating 221 hp at the front and 318 hp at the rear, for a combined output of 439 hp and 687 Nm of torque. This top variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and offers a CLTC range of 705 km.
Pricing for the 2025 Avatr 12 starts at $37,230 and goes up to $59,300. Customers who place an order before May 31 can take advantage of a promotional discount that lowers the entry price to $35,900, adjusting the full price range to $35,900–$58,000. Early buyers can also receive up to $5,500 worth of configuration bonuses, which may include premium features like advanced ADS capabilities, a 25-speaker Meridian audio system, and 21-inch wheels.
