The Nissan Z Makes Its Debut In New York City

The next Nissan Z sports vehicle will be unveiled on August 17, 2021. Nissan made the news today, only a few months after revealing the Z Proto concept in late 2020. Although the production version won't be available for a few months, we'll finally be able to witness the new twin-turbo coupe in person.

Nissan did not reveal any juicy facts, such as performance or pricing, save from the official release date. We do know that the new Z will use the Infiniti Q60's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, which is projected to produce roughly 400 horsepower. A manual transmission will be standard, with an automatic transmission available as an option, and power will be sent solely to the rear wheels.

The next Nissan Z's design will most likely be similar to what we've seen on the Z Proto car with a fastback body shape (just like its predecessor), a massive grille, and retro taillights at the rear.

The inside of the new Z should also be similar to that of the Proto. The same sharp 8.0-inch touchscreen will almost certainly be retained, as will the triple gauge arrangement above the dash, the digital instrument cluster, and the sleek three-spoke steering wheel, with leather seating surfaces available as an option.

We won't know the price of the new Z until Nissan makes an official announcement, but insiders say it will start at $34,995.
