The world is moving towards integration nowadays. One-sidedness no longer makes sense today because humans are getting closer to each other and by cooperation can develop much faster. This is also happening in the automotive world. Daimler one of the oldest members of the global auto-maker with Geely, Junior in the global auto market are making contractions to make next-generation hybrid vehicle.
Daimler which is known by Mercedes Benz by us, concerns so much about the CO2 emission. Also, now Geely the producer of Volvo in China is joining the club by developing highly efficient powertrain system. Both R&D teams going to work on next-generation gasoline engine with the hybrid option. The new engine can be used by Mercedes Benz or on Volvo cars.
Daimler AG have some schedules for 2039. They want to equip most of their cars with hybrid technology or even pure-electric cars to help the world by a completely carbon-neutral new passenger. On the other hand, working with another company which is accidently in China is a great opportunity as Not only Geely is high-tech, but also the cost of manufacturing in China is much lower than in Germany. Markus Schäfer, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG; responsible for Daimler Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars COO states that like this:
We are looking forward to the future; when, together with Volvo’s ICE unit and Geely, we will further extend our synergies in the field of highly efficient drivetrain systems in China and the world. At Mercedes-Benz, the newly established unit Mercedes-Benz Drive Systems will spearhead the project and create cost efficiencies.”
Of course, it’s not the first time for Germans to work with the Geely. They did some investigations on next-generation Smart cars. By the way, everyone loves clean energy and like green earth. By the highly efficient combustion engines which has the global market standards, this contract can conquer the world.
