Leapmotor has officially launched its all-electric B01 sedan in the Chinese market, introducing a total of six trim levels with three range options under the CLTC testing cycle: 430 km, 550 km, and 650 km. This new model represents Leapmotor’s commitment to affordable yet high-performance electric mobility and is built on the advanced LEAP 3.5 modular platform, which enhances its flexibility and performance. The B01 is aerodynamically efficient, boasting a very low drag coefficient of 0.197 Cd. The vehicle’s dimensions are 4,770 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase, positioning it solidly within the mid-size electric sedan category. Curb weight varies across versions, ranging from 1,550 kg to 1,711 kg, depending on configuration and battery size.
Inside the cabin, the B01 offers two aesthetic choices—gray and purple—allowing buyers to personalize their driving environment. The interior is designed with a minimalist and modern feel, centered around a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel. A digital 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster provides all essential driving data, while the main infotainment system is controlled via a 14.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen. This interface is powered by Leapmotor’s latest operating system, OS 4.0 Plus, and is supported by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155P or 8295P chip, depending on the trim level. Additionally, the OS includes integration with DeepSeek’s AI model, which enables a smart voice assistant for hands-free control and convenience.
A unique feature in the front passenger area is the presence of six “magic expansion holes,” which allow users to attach modular accessories such as fold-out tables, mobile phone mounts, or other practical add-ons. All B01 models come with rear-wheel drive (RWD), contributing to a sportier driving feel.
Performance specifications vary by trim. The 430 Comfort Edition is equipped with a 134-horsepower electric motor producing 175 Nm of torque, paired with a 43.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. It reaches a top speed of 150 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. The 550-series trims (Comfort, Enjoy, and LiDAR Editions) include either a 177 hp or 215 hp motor and a 56.2 kWh battery, enabling top speeds of 160 km/h and acceleration as quick as 6.4 seconds. The top-tier 650 Enjoy and LiDAR Editions feature a 215 hp with 240 Nm of torque, matched to a 67.1 kWh battery. These models also top out at 160 km/h and reach 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds.
All trims are equipped with Leapmotor Pilot, an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8650 chip. This system supports 26 intelligent driving functions, including both city and highway autonomous navigation, as well as parking assistance. Sensor packages vary: base models include five cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, while higher trims gain enhanced vision through 10 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, three millimeter-wave radars, and a powerful 128-line LiDAR sensor capable of detecting objects up to 300 meters away with a 140° field of view.
Customers can select from eight different exterior paint options. Practicality is not forgotten either—the B01 offers a standard luggage capacity of 460 liters, ensuring it remains useful for everyday family or business use. With its blend of range, technology, performance, and customization, the Leapmotor B01 aims to be a serious contender in the competitive EV sedan market in China.
