Hyundai Launches Ioniq As An EV Sub-Brand

Hyundai released its decision to launch an EV focused sub-brand Ioniq. In the upcoming years, the brand will announce three models under the Ioniq badge. Hyundai also says that all cars will support ultra-fast charging capability. It is said that Ioniq’s future cars will offer a lot of space inside the cabin.

Future models are called Ioniq 5, 6 and 7 while Hyundai is also planning to introduce an electric SUV as well.

The first Ioniq car is Ioniq 5 and it will hit the market in early 2021. Ioniq 5 is based on the Hyundai 45 EV Concept.

A year after that Hyundai will launch Ioniq 6 which is a sedan car based on the Prophecy concept. Hyundai expects to introduce a large SUV called Ioniq 7 by early 2024. Hyundai will build all Ioniq cars based on the E-GMP modular platform.
