Geely is preparing to launch its latest entry into the plug-in hybrid market with the upcoming Galaxy Starshine 6 EM-i sedan, which will officially open for pre-sale in China on September 26. This new model is designed to appeal to buyers looking for a balance of modern technology, fuel efficiency, and advanced driver assistance features. It comes equipped with Geely’s newest generation NordThor (Leishen) AI Hybrid 2.0 power system, alongside the brand’s G-Pilot H3 intelligent driving assistance platform, making it a technologically advanced contender in the hybrid sedan segment.
The Starshine 6 has been developed on Geely’s GEA platform and is positioned slightly below the larger Galaxy Starshine 8 PHEV sedan in the brand’s lineup. Measuring 4,806 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,756 mm, the Starshine 6 is a mid-sized sedan that offers a slightly more compact alternative to the Starshine 8. For comparison, the bigger sibling stretches to 5,018 mm in length and sits on a longer 2,928 mm wheelbase, giving buyers clear options depending on their size and space needs. Customers purchasing the Starshine 6 will be able to select from five exterior color options: blue, silver, white, black, and gray.
Stepping inside, the cabin reflects Geely’s focus on comfort and technology. The interior design is highlighted by a sporty two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a large 14.6-inch central infotainment screen. Running on the Flyme Auto system, the infotainment hardware is powered by Geely’s in-house Dragon Eagle-1 chip, a 7nm processor that ensures smoother and faster performance. In terms of space, the sedan offers generous headroom of 970 mm in the front and 960 mm in the rear, ensuring comfort for passengers of varying heights. The seats are designed with 80 mm of cushioning, including 20 mm of memory foam for improved support and long-distance comfort.
On the technology side, the Starshine 6 introduces Geely’s G-Pilot H3 driver assistance package, which is positioned as an entry-level but capable ADAS solution within the G-Pilot hierarchy that ranges from H1 to H9. Powered by Horizon Robotics’ J6M chip delivering 128 TOPS of computing performance, the system integrates 11 cameras, three millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. With this hardware, the car can perform high-speed and urban Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), emergency avoidance maneuvers, memory parking, and cruise comfortably at speeds up to 150 km/h.
Under the hood, the Starshine 6 is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 110 horsepower and 136 Nm of torque, paired with a 1-speed DHT transmission. The setup delivers a top speed of 180 km/h. Buyers can choose between two lithium iron phosphate battery packs, rated at 8.5 kWh and 17 kWh, which allow for a maximum pure electric range of up to 125 km on the CLTC cycle. Fuel efficiency is another highlight, with the car consuming as little as 2.8 liters per 100 kilometers on the CLTC comprehensive cycle. Although Geely has not yet revealed the full electric motor specifications or the combined hybrid driving range, the initial figures suggest that the Starshine 6 will deliver both strong economy and everyday practicality.
With its blend of advanced hybrid power, digital cockpit features, and intelligent driving assistance, the Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 EM-i is positioned as an attractive new option for Chinese buyers seeking affordable, tech-driven mobility with a focus on efficiency and comfort.
