Land Rover has taken the rugged appeal of the Defender OCTA and given it a bold new twist with the introduction of the OCTA Black edition. Building on the aggressive design and performance of the original model, this new version adds an even more striking, stealthy appearance thanks to a suite of blacked-out enhancements. With up to 30 exterior components finished in satin or gloss black, the OCTA Black is a visual statement of power, refinement, and design precision.

The exterior of the OCTA Black is coated in Narvik Black, which Land Rover describes as the deepest and purest black available in the Defender’s color range. While the standard paint comes in a glossy finish, buyers have the option to add a matte protective film, enhancing the vehicle’s durability and visual intensity. Additional exterior elements receive a dark treatment, including satin black powder-coated skid plates, satin black recovery hooks, and a gloss black quad-tailpipe exhaust system. The front grille is blacked out, while the iconic “Defender” badge is reimagined in a dark silver finish, further amplifying the model’s aggressive presence on the road.

Buyers can choose between 20-inch or 22-inch alloy wheels, both finished in gloss black with matching black center caps. These sit in front of high-performance brakes equipped with gloss black calipers, reinforcing the vehicle’s high-performance image. Every detail, from the ground up, contributes to the OCTA Black’s commanding, unified look.

Inside, the blackout theme continues with a cabin dressed in rich, dark finishes. Highlights include a satin black powder-coated crossbar beam, black control switches, and a black steering wheel. For an added touch of luxury, buyers can opt for a chopped carbon fiber trim, introducing a modern, textured contrast. The seating is equally refined, upholstered in ebony semi-aniline leather with Kvadrat fabric accents. According to Land Rover, this combination creates a soft, tactile feel for the high-performance seats, which also feature unique perforation patterns and contrast stitching on the backrests.

Beyond aesthetics, the OCTA Black benefits from recent updates seen in the 2026 Defender models. These upgrades include redesigned lighting units, a larger 13.1-inch infotainment display, and new color and trim options that enhance usability and appeal.

Under the hood, the OCTA Black carries the same potent engine as the standard OCTA. A 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, co-developed with BMW, delivers 626 horsepower and 749 Nm of torque. This powerhouse allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of up to 250 km/h, placing it among the fastest and most capable luxury off-roaders available today.

In short, the Defender OCTA Black is more than just a cosmetic package—it’s a refined and powerful evolution of Land Rover’s iconic off-roader, designed to deliver both commanding performance and sinister style on any terrain.
