Brabus Unleashes the Ultimate AMG GT 63 S E

Most enthusiasts would agree that the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is already an outrageously fast machine, with no shortage of muscle under its hood. However, Brabus sees things differently. The renowned German tuner has taken AMG’s flagship hybrid super sedan and decided that “more” is the only acceptable direction. The result is the Brabus 1000, a car that doesn’t just flirt with excess, but fully embraces it, offering staggering performance upgrades alongside dramatic visual and interior changes.

As the name openly declares, the Brabus 1000 develops a monumental 1,000 metric horsepower (986 hp). Even more jaw-dropping is its torque figure — an astronomical 1,820 Nm. To protect the transmission from certain destruction, this number has been electronically restrained to 1,620 Nm. Such figures are enough to make even the most seasoned driver pause for a moment of awe.

The transformation goes far beyond simply fitting oversized turbochargers. Brabus has re-engineered AMG’s already formidable 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, expanding its displacement to 4.5 liters. This involved the addition of a precision-machined billet aluminum crankshaft, forged high-performance connecting rods, and a custom stainless-steel exhaust system. The GT 63 S E Performance’s 201-hp electric motor remains part of the equation, but the internal combustion engine alone now produces 785 hp and 1,250 Nm — numbers that most supercars could only dream of.

Naturally, such power translates into mind-bending speed. Brabus claims the 1000 can rocket from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. The 200 km/h barrier falls in 9.5 seconds, and 300 km/h is dispatched in only 23.6 seconds. Top speed is limited — more for safety than capability — to 320 km/h.

The bodywork has also been given the Brabus treatment. The front fascia now incorporates sharper aerodynamic elements, including new canards, redesigned grille inserts, and a carbon-fiber splitter. At the rear, a fixed wing and an aggressive carbon diffuser dominate the view. Completing the exterior changes are lightweight ten-spoke alloy wheels, 21 inches at the front and 22 at the rear, wrapped around suspension upgrades that lower the ride height by 20 mm for improved stance and handling.

Inside, the cabin reflects the same blend of luxury and aggression. Brabus has reupholstered the interior in premium black leather, contrasted with striking red accents on the air vents, speaker surrounds, and switchgear. Carbon-fiber trim panels add a motorsport-inspired edge, ensuring the space feels just as exclusive as the performance figures suggest.

Of course, exclusivity of this magnitude comes at a price — a very steep one. The Brabus 1000 starts at €445,900. For that sum, buyers receive a reimagined AMG that exists in a category all its own, designed for those who consider the standard GT 63 S E Performance merely a starting point.
