In Singapore, owning a car is far more expensive than in many other countries due to strict government regulations aimed at managing congestion and emissions. One of the key requirements is obtaining a Certificate of Entitlement (COE), which alone can cost close to 100,000 Singapore dollars. On top of that, new car buyers must also pay an Additional Registration Fee (ARF), making the total ownership cost significantly higher than in most global markets.

Against this backdrop, the Avatr 11, a mid-to-large luxury electric SUV, has drawn interest with its advanced technology and performance-focused specifications. The Avatr 11 boasts body dimensions of 4895 mm in length, 1970 mm in width, and 1601 mm in height, with a spacious 2975 mm wheelbase. Its weight varies depending on the powertrain configuration: the EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) variant weighs around 2,240 kg, while the BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) version ranges between 2,310 kg and 2,410 kg, reflecting the heavier battery setup.

The EREV version features rear-wheel drive and is powered by the Kunlun range-extender system, which includes a 310 hp electric motor delivering 367 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine acting solely as a generator. It comes equipped with a 39.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by Freevoy. This configuration provides a pure electric range of 225 km (based on the CLTC cycle) and a combined range of 1,065 km when the range extender is factored in. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

In contrast, the BEV version is available in both RWD and AWD formats, utilizing Huawei’s DriveOne 800V silicon carbide electric drive system. The RWD model offers a 318 hp motor and 396 Nm of torque, paired with a 116.79 kWh ternary lithium battery, providing up to 815 km of driving range. This model completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in 6.5 seconds. The AWD version adds an additional 221 hp front motor (291 Nm), bringing the total system output significantly higher. Despite the added power, its range is slightly lower at 760 km, but it offers stunning acceleration—0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

All versions of the Avatr 11 have a top speed of 200 km/h. Fast-charging capabilities are impressive: the BEV can recharge from 0% to 80% in about 35 minutes, while the EREV achieves 30% to 80% recharge in just 15 minutes.

A key highlight of the Avatr 11 is its Huawei ADS 3.0 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This system relies on a high-tech sensor array, including three lidars, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars. Together, they enable semi-autonomous functions such as highway autopilot, urban cruise control, automated parking, and even remote parking.

In terms of market performance, Avatr sold 10,153 vehicles in June, marking a 117% increase compared to the same month last year. However, the Avatr 11 made up only a small portion of that figure, with just 153 units sold, accounting for 1.5% of total monthly sales. Avatr’s current lineup includes several models, namely the Avatr 06, 07, 11, 011, 12, and 012, covering a wide range of body styles and powertrain options aimed at different customer segments.
