The New Member Of 2021 VW Enthusiast Fleet Debut, Atlas Cross Sport GT Concept

This new concept is some how a rewrite of the 2021 Atlas Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line model. By the new leadership of Jamie Orr, strategies changed to the Atlas. The first thing with this concept is the color of the car, “Kingfisher Blue”, or can be called Eisvogelblau in German. This color is already available in Europe.

Exterior Design

The look is not just summarized by the color. The other important features with this Concept can be the 22-inch ABT Sport HR Aerowheels with Yokohama Advan Sport tires, the ST Suspension XTA Plus 3 coilovers with color-matched and GT Concept-branded springs, TAROX eight-piston brakes, gloss black trim (instead of chrome), plus custom GT badging in various locations.

Interior Design

Inside the car, the same color is used. Also, the seat layout is fully customized. So, you can have the rear center console, which suits well the front console. Moreover, this SUV has the special VW Accessories convenience safe and additional USB charging ports inside the storage compartment.

Powertrain & Performance

This concept has improved without any doubt, which you can call it a GT. Orr states:

“The production model has excellent acceleration, braking and handling for its size, but we knew we wanted to push the car even further so it could live up to its GT name,”

The main power comes from the 2.0-liter TSI engine which is used on the VW Golf R, with the an IS38 turbocharger and an additional front-mounted radiator from the MK7 Golf R. so, all this system can have an output of 300-hp maximum. The transmission system is also a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, paired to the SUV’s standard 4Motion all-wheel drive system.

The new Atlas is the new member of the VW Enthusiast Fleet. Just like the other members, this vehicle comes to the USA this year.
