Suzuki’s PHEV Crossover Debuted, An Obvious Copy Of Toyota RAV4

Suzuki officially revealed a new plug-in hybrid crossover named Across for the European market. The new Japanese SUV is based on the Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid and it is more a rebadged car than an all-new model.

Changes between Suzuki Across and Toyota RAV4 include new LED headlights, larger grille, and new 19-inch wheels.

power supplied by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 173 hp combined with two electric motors. The battery pack also mounted on the floor and has a capacity of 18.1 kWh. The front electric motor pumps out 180 hp and the rear one produces 54 hp. The combined power for the PHEV power unit is 302 hp which is exactly the same as Toyota RAV4 PHEV.

As Suzuki claimed, Across can travel up to 75 km on pure EV mode. The CO2 emission is also 22g/km. Suzuki Across also uses a smart AWD system called E-Four.

The cabin is almost left unchanged in comparison with Toyota RAV4but we can see a new steering wheel with Suzuki badge on it. Other features for Suzuki Across are the 9-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
