We all are familiar with the Formula One. But as the number of electric cars rises, the lovers expect more than just an average urban speed. The result is the Formula E championship. Before BMW Groupe had the duty of safety with its BMW i8, which was a plug-in hybrid car, but this time it seems that pure electric vehicle of Mini can handle the track.
Meet the Mini Electric Pacesetter inspired by JCW: a special version of the new Mini Cooper SE. this vehicle is now the guard for the 10th April races in Rome. for putting the BMW i8 aside, this Mini should have much more than its regular model.
So, when we want to compare this Mini Cooper SE with its standard version, firstly we can mention the weight. It is reduced about 150 kg, so it weighs just1,23o kg. also, it has the motorsport coil-over suspension and the same tyres on the front wheels of the Formula E racing cars.
The other vital change, is the powertrain. With all optimizations, this Mini Cooper SE delivers 135 kW of power and 280 Nm of torque. Also, it hits 100 km/h in 6.7 (the standard version hits it in 7.3 s) and 80 to 120, takes just 4.3 seconds.
The interior has just essential need. No more rear seats just the front row of seats is present. But it is armed with a welded-in roll cage to improve the safety. Also, while this vehicle is a combination of Mini and John Cooper Works brands characteristics, it is named with the suffix “inspired by JCW”.
This Mini has the same round headlights and also hexagonal radiator grille of the typical Mini face as well as classic JCW elements such as the wheel arches which is designed exactly with the track width and the deep front apron with an additional split front splitter.
