The SR3 XXR, the most recent model of the SR3 line of racecars with a new engine, has been unveiled by UK-based Radical. Additionally, the new SR3 XXR has minor styling and chassis changes that make it go faster down the track.
The new "Generation 5" dry-sump, four-cylinder Radical engines deliver higher power and torque numbers while being biofuel-ready (petrol / E85). The hand-built mid-mounted mills have a maximum horsepower of 232. With the aid of a Quaife limited-slip differential, power is transferred to the rear axle through a six-speed sequential gearbox that has been calibrated. The SR3 XXR Racecar has over 350 hp per tonne because the vehicle is lightweight.
The new Radical SR3 XXR has updated LED graphics for the headlights and taillights, new rear wing endplates, a central fin at the back that was inspired by LMP racecars, as well as an optional carbon fiber splitter and diffuser, in comparison to its Radical SR3 XX predecessor.
As with the spaceframe chassis that has received FIA certification, the optional halo structure is kept for the driver's protection.
Two-seater and one-seater interior options are available, and a pre-preg carbon fiber dashboard is an add-on. The Formula Wheel from AiM has paddle gearshifts, switches, and an integrated display.
New AP Racing brakes with 280 mm discs and four-pot calipers all around are also added to the track-only model.
The Nik-link suspension has interchangeable roll bars, adjustable pushrods, and wishbones of different lengths.
The SR3 XXR is equipped with a brand-new set of center-lock wheels made of lightweight cast aluminum that measure 14 inches up front and 15 inches back and are fitted with slick or wet tires. Additionally, a set of custom, fully adjustable dampers made by Intrax are an option.
The SR3 XXR's price hasn't been disclosed by the company, but used examples of the SR3 XX, which replaced it, are currently listed on Radical's website for $100,000, so it should cost more.
