When Tesla introduced its Cybertruck for the first time, it just bombed the internet. The Tesla’s followers showed positive reaction to this new EV, on the other hand opponents didn’t see any future for this car. These worldwide reactions and posts, made Tesla Cybertrack reveal one of the most unforgettable unveiling in the Automotive industry.
But after some month, the memory of this edged Truck was washed away. What is weirder is the new interview given by Elon Musk. This interview was published on Automotive News. As Musk claims this car was not designed and produced by the need of the market and they hadn’t done any market researches before.
Elon Musk stated:
Customer research? We just made a car we thought was awesome and looks super weird. I just wanted to make a futuristic battle tank — something that looks like it could come out of Blade Runner or Aliens or something like that but was also highly functional.
For a successful company with high incomes making no money from Cybertruck isn’t a problem. If this truck wont be a success, this company has plans to fill the market with more casual and conventional looking electric pickup, just like as Musk said:
Wasn't super worried about that because if it turns out nobody wants to buy a weird-looking truck, we'll build a normal truck, no problem. There's lots of normal trucks out there that look pretty much the same; you can hardly tell the difference. And sure, we could just do some copycat truck; that's easy. So that's our fallback strategy.
Actually, maybe the failure of the Cybertrack sale wasn’t something unexpected. And the company it self did some backup plans too. Despite of this, this Cybertruck will come to the market. As Musk recommends, for traditional pickup buyers, Cybertrack is not a good choice. In fact, this car wasn’t designed for any special owners. Musk just wanted to do something unique and memorable.
By all the facts that not just the company, but also all of us are aware of, we should wait to see what comes next in 2021. Would Tesla do some changes on Cybertrack or it would be look like its prototype. Actually, it is hard to predict Musk’s next move.
