Chinese automaker Zeekr has officially introduced a refreshed version of its 001 shooting brake, and it’s already generating major buzz for a groundbreaking reason — it could be the fastest-charging electric vehicle in the world. This new iteration features a cutting-edge 900-volt electric architecture and Zeekr’s proprietary “Golden Brick” battery, enabling astonishing charging performance. According to the company, one variant of the 001 can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just seven minutes. What makes this even more impressive is that the car isn’t equipped with a small battery — it packs a substantial 95 kWh unit, meaning Zeekr has achieved these figures without sacrificing capacity or range.
Inside, the updated 001 offers a tech-filled, luxury-oriented interior. It now features an ultra-wide infotainment screen, a 39.3-inch head-up display, a 13-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch rear-seat display for passenger entertainment and control. This layout ensures a fully digital cockpit experience designed to appeal to high-end EV buyers looking for both speed and sophistication.
Zeekr claims that the revised 001 supports charging speeds of up to 1,140 kW, setting a new benchmark for electric vehicles. To put that into perspective, only Tesla’s Megacharger network, built for the Tesla Semi, approaches these power levels in the U.S. However, Zeekr is already a step ahead in its home market, as it has begun rolling out 1,300 kW ultra-fast charging stations across China to support this new generation of vehicles.
Performance has also received a massive boost. The 001 equipped with the 95 kWh Golden Brick battery will be available exclusively with all-wheel drive, powered by dual electric motors producing a combined 912 horsepower. This setup enables a lightning-quick 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.83 seconds, placing it squarely in supercar territory. Despite the performance focus, range remains impressive, with the model boasting a CLTC-rated distance of 710 km on a single charge.
Zeekr will also offer a second variant using CATL’s advanced Qilin battery technology with a larger 103 kWh capacity, extending range to 762 km. While this version doesn’t match the record-breaking charging speeds of the Golden Brick battery, it can still recharge from 10 to 80 percent in about 10 minutes, a figure that remains ahead of nearly all competitors in the EV market.
Beyond performance and power, the Zeekr 001 introduces several premium upgrades. One standout feature is a panoramic glass roof embedded with tiny LED lights that create a “Starlight” effect reminiscent of what’s seen in Rolls-Royce models, adding a touch of ultra-luxury to the cabin experience.
Although final pricing has yet to be revealed, Zeekr has confirmed that customer deliveries will begin soon, suggesting that production is already underway. With its remarkable blend of power, luxury, and unmatched charging speed, the new Zeekr 001 looks poised to redefine what’s possible for electric vehicles in both China and the global market.
