Lunar Cruiser, The Toyota and JAXA Land-Rover On The Moon

It is obvious that nowadays, earth is not enough for humans. So, there are several programs under progress. Last year, Toyota joined the club and signed a document with Japan Aerospace Explosion Agency (JAXA). Toyota is in charge to build a manned, pressurized fuel-cell rover for the moon. Now they have come to a conclusion for the Name of this Moon-rover. This big vehicle is going to be named “Lunar Cruiser”.

Lunar-cruiser is the longest-running nameplate. As Toyota claims, they chose this name for the "quality, durability, and reliability expected of the pressurized lunar rover, and the concept that Toyota has long held to for the Land Cruiser, which was for people to 'come back alive.” Of course, Lunar Cruiser is not a mysterious name or even inspirational one like other vehicles like Mars rovers Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity, Curiosity, and Perseverance, but this one is more than enough to give Toyota’s marque a good look and as the same time prestige.

Lunar Cruiser would be launched in late of this decade. For now, there are much more to do. Toyota and JAXA should experiment so many elements and make test parts. What’s more are the simulations of the moon and heat dissipation systems. They should prepare their vehicle for harsh situations.

Technical Information Of Lunar Cruiser

As the concept proposal revealed, this car is under 20 feet long and in earth it weighs just 14,000 pounds. Although this cruiser is large but there are just room for 2 astronauts. As the company claimed, Lunar-Cruiser can travel for a range of 10,000 kilometers with its 6 wheels. This range is just about the equatorial circumference of the moon and for doing such a travel, Lunar has 6-years’ time.
