Lexus Unveils IS500 Ultimate Edition with V8 Power Limited To Only 500 Units

The Lexus IS500 is currently the last luxury sedan sold in the U.S. that still uses a naturally aspirated V8 engine. To celebrate this rare feature, Lexus is releasing a special version called the IS500 Ultimate Edition. Only 500 of these cars will be made for the North American market.

Most of the changes in this special edition are focused on looks. The car gets a unique paint color called “Wind,” a light metallic gray that isn’t available on other models. It also comes with special 19-inch BBS wheels finished in matte black, giving it a more aggressive and refined appearance.

Inside, the IS500 Ultimate Edition features a sporty and stylish design. It comes with Circuit Red leather seats, accented with black details and red seat belts. The seats are made from Lexus’s NuLuxe material, which is a high-quality synthetic leather mixed with suede. On the dashboard, there’s a special badge showing the car’s production number out of the 500 made, adding to its exclusive feel.

Under the hood, the car keeps the same powerful engine that makes the IS500 stand out—a 5.0-liter V8 without a turbocharger. It produces 472 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. To improve braking, Lexus has added red-painted Brembo six-piston brake calipers in the front, which provide stronger stopping power.

Lexus has not yet announced the official price of the IS500 Ultimate Edition. However, because of its limited production and exclusive features, it is expected to cost more than the standard 2025 IS500, which starts at $60,595.

This special edition is a tribute to a type of performance sedan that is becoming increasingly rare, as most new luxury cars are switching to smaller turbocharged engines or electric power. The IS500 Ultimate Edition offers driving enthusiasts a chance to own one of the last naturally aspirated V8 sedans available, with unique styling and extra performance features that make it stand out even more. If you’re a fan of traditional muscle and luxury in one package, this could be one of the final opportunities to get that combination in a new car.
