Kia Stinger's production is expected to finish in the second quarter of 2022. Kia is believed to have issued production plans for all of its South Korean factories, including the Sohari Plant, where the Stinger is manufactured, late last week.
The Stinger will be phased out by the second quarter of 2022, and the production plant will be reconfigured to produce electric vehicles like as the Carnival Hybrid. While the Stinger was well-received by the media and the general public, it did not sell in the volumes that Kia had planned.
The Kia Stinger was redesigned earlier this year for the 2022 model year, and sales of the revamped vehicle began just a few months ago in the United States. A 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder version producing 300 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque replaces the old 2.0-liter and adds 45 hp and 69 Nm of torque to the lineup. The Stinger is still available with a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 rated at 368 horsepower and 510 Nm.
At the beginning of June, a special edition Stinger named the Scorpion was debuted, complete with unique wheels and external detail. Other special edition Stinger variants may be released before the vehicle is discontinued.
