KG Mobility, soon to be known as KGM Motors in the UK, is set to introduce its latest offerings, the Torres and Torres EVX, to the local market in the coming months. The Torres lineup encompasses both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EVX) variants, catering to a diverse range of preferences and requirements.

KG Mobility Torres

Starting with the ICE-powered Torres, it stands as the more affordable option, although specific pricing details are yet to be disclosed. Under the hood, it features a turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. While exact specifications for this engine in the Torres remain undisclosed, it is noteworthy that in the Korando, it delivers 161 hp and 280 Nm of torque. Initially available in a front-wheel-drive configuration, an all-wheel-drive variant is scheduled for release later in the year.

For UK buyers seeking an electric alternative, the Torres EVX emerges as an enticing option. Powered solely by electricity, it integrates a robust 73.4 kWh battery pack and a 201 hp electric motor generating 339 Nm of torque. The EVX exhibits an impressive electric range, claiming to cover 462 km on a single charge. Despite not aiming for peak power output, it distinguishes itself by supporting vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging capabilities, setting it apart from many other electric vehicles on the market.

While the visual identity of both the Torres and Torres EVX remains quite similar, the electric variant undergoes distinctive modifications at the front, including a revamped fascia featuring an LED light bar, a unique bumper design, and exclusive headlamps. The EVX model also boasts stylish 20-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its overall aesthetic appeal.

Inside the cabin, occupants of both models are greeted by a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a central 12.3-inch infotainment screen, ensuring a technologically advanced and user-friendly experience. The infotainment system seamlessly integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, safety is a top priority, with standard features such as lane-keeping assistance, front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, and a reversing camera enhancing the overall driving experience.
