The China automotive scene welcomes a new contender for the long-range electric SUV market – the Jiyue 01 Max long-range version. This upgraded variant, a joint venture between Baidu and Geely, boasts an impressive driving range and advanced features, all at a competitive price point of $35,200.

Jiyue 01

For those familiar with the previous Jiyue 01, the overall design stays true to its roots. The major visual differentiator lies in the addition of a sleek electric spoiler, adding a touch of sportiness. The silhouette retains the popular floating roof design and futuristic touch with hidden door handles. Measuring a substantial 4853 mm in length, 1990 mm in width, and 1611 mm in height, with a generous 3000 mm wheelbase, the Jiyue 01 Max firmly sits in the mid-to-large SUV category.

Stepping inside reveals a driver-centric haven focused on technology and convenience. The centerpiece is a massive 35.6-inch integrated screen powered by a cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. This versatile display can be configured in various layouts, including full-screen, dual-screen, or even triple-screen, catering to your individual preferences. Jiyue boasts a voice recognition system dubbed SIMO AI, claiming a lightning-fast response speed of just 500 milliseconds.

But the technological prowess doesn't stop there. The Jiyue 01 Max incorporates Baidu's Apollo intelligent driving system, a testament to the brand's commitment to cutting-edge autonomous driving technology. Two NVIDIA Orin-X intelligent driving chips further enhance the system's capabilities. For those seeking an even more advanced driving assistance experience, an optional ROBO Drive Max system is available.

The most significant upgrade for the long-range version lies beneath the sleek exterior. Unlike the previous Max version that utilized a 71.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack from SVOLT with a 550 km CLTC cruising range, the new variant boasts a larger 100 kWh ternary lithium battery from CATL. This translates to a remarkable 720 km CLTC cruising range, making long journeys a breeze. Additionally, the Jiyue 01 Max supports fast charging, replenishing the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Powering the Jiyue 01 Max is a single rear electric motor generating a maximum output of 268 hp and a peak torque of 343 Nm. This translates to a respectable 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 200 km/h.

The Jiyue 01 Max long-range version presents a compelling proposition for those seeking a spacious, feature-rich electric SUV with a focus on driving range and advanced technology. With its competitive price and impressive capabilities, the Jiyue 01 Max is poised to be a strong contender in the growing long-range electric SUV market.
