Jetour made a significant announcement on April 2, unveiling the pre-sales of its Shanhai T2 light off-road plug-in hybrid SUV, which comes with a price bracket spanning from 184,900 to 216,900 yuan (approximately $25,500 to $30,000). Prospective buyers are presented with three distinct models to choose from. Noteworthy is the fact that the T2 is essentially a rebranded version of the Jetour Traveller C-DM, falling under the umbrella of the Shanhai series, Jetour's line of new energy vehicles.
Market positioning dictates the Shanhai T2 as a light off-road SUV, mirroring the overall design of the Jetour Traveller, characterized by its square silhouette and an external spare tire cover adorning the rear. The dimensions of the Jetour Shanhai T2 measure 4785/2006/1875 (1910) mm, with a wheelbase extending to 2800 mm.
In terms of off-road capabilities, the Shanhai T2 boasts an approach angle of 28°, a departure angle of 30°, a minimum ground clearance of 205 mm, and a wading depth of 700 mm. Two tire options are available: 255/55 R20 and 255/60 R19. The vehicle also includes a generous 64-inch panoramic sunroof.
Moving to the interior, the cockpit showcases a 10.25-inch instrument panel alongside a 15.6-inch central control screen equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The entire series of vehicles is powered by Chery's Kunpeng Super Performance Electric Hybrid C-DM system, which consists of a fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI hybrid engine and a permanent magnet synchronous motor, mated to a 3-speed DHT transmission. The engine outputs an impressive 115 kW of power and 220 Nm of torque, while the electric motor delivers a remarkable 165 kW of power and 390 Nm of torque.
