Honda Teased The 2024 Prologue, More EV's From This Company

Honda expects battery and fuel cell electric cars to account for 40% of its North American yearly sales by 2030, with that figure tripling by 2035 before reaching zero emissions by the end of the decade. Honda has also collaborated with General Motors to use its Ultium platform and batteries to develop a range of vehicles that will be devoid of combustion engines.

The first will arrive on sale in early 2024, and it will take the form of an SUV called "Prologue," about which we now have a teaser.

Aside from its collaboration with GM, the Japanese carmaker is developing its own specialized EV platform, which will be available in the second half of the decade.

Meanwhile, according to Dave Gardner, executive vice president of American Honda, the electric SUV previewed here would have "great functionality and packaging they've come to expect from Honda."

Later that year, Honda's premium brand Acura will debut its own electric SUV based on the same GM-sourced chassis.

Honda's electric SUV is expected to be smaller than Acura's, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
