Ford is expanding its MS-RT performance-inspired range in Europe with the introduction of two electrified models that promise both style and efficiency. The sporty Ranger MS-RT pickup is now available with a new plug-in hybrid powertrain, while the Tourneo Custom MS-RT people carrier is making the leap to a fully electric version. Both models aim to combine aggressive styling with the everyday practicality that has long defined Ford’s MS-RT lineup.
The Ranger MS-RT stands out as a true “street truck.” Compared to the standard Ranger, it sits 40 mm lower to the ground and is equipped with a sport-tuned suspension for sharper handling. On the outside, it keeps all the distinctive MS-RT design features such as the wide fenders, honeycomb front grille, reshaped bumpers, aerodynamic diffuser, ducktail-style rear spoiler, and massive 21-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Ford has also added a new paint option called Turini Purple, giving the truck a striking appearance that sets it apart from its siblings.
Inside, the Ranger continues the sporty theme with Eco leather and suede upholstery accented by blue stitching. Bucket seats, a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel, and illuminated MS-RT branding further emphasize its performance character. Technology has not been overlooked either: drivers get a large 12-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone climate control, and a range of driver assistance features designed to enhance comfort and safety.
Meanwhile, the Tourneo Custom MS-RT brings motorsport-inspired styling to a multi-passenger vehicle. Last year, Ford gave the Transit Custom a similar treatment, and now the eight-seater Tourneo receives the same bold makeover. The van sports redesigned bumpers with larger intakes, a front splitter, extended side skirts, a rear diffuser, and an oversized roof spoiler inspired by the extreme Ford Supervan. Inside, the upgrades include front seats with heavier bolsters and integrated headrests, as well as Eco leather and suede upholstery with blue stitching across all three seating rows. The Tourneo MS-RT rides on 19-inch alloy wheels but maintains the standard suspension setup for passenger comfort.
Under the hood, the Ranger MS-RT PHEV combines a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a single electric motor. Together, they deliver a total of 277 horsepower and 697 Nm of torque—an increase of 40 hp and 97 Nm compared to the diesel variant. Power is sent through a 10-speed automatic gearbox to an all-wheel-drive system. Beyond the added punch, the hybrid setup offers up to 40 kilometers of electric-only driving thanks to its 11.8 kWh battery. Importantly, the Ranger still retains its work-ready capabilities, with a 3,500 kg towing capacity and a payload rating of one tonne.
The Tourneo Custom MS-RT will be available in several configurations, including fully electric, plug-in hybrid, and traditional diesel versions. The EV variant leads the pack with 282 horsepower from a single electric motor, making it the most powerful option in the lineup.
Ford plans to open orders for the new electrified MS-RT models in Europe and the UK later this year, with the first customer deliveries expected in 2026. Final assembly of all MS-RT Rangers and Tourneo Customs will take place at Ford’s Dagenham Estate facility in the UK. Before that, both vehicles will make their official public debut at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, running from September 8 to 14.
