At the 2025 Auto Guangzhou event, Changan officially unveiled its latest electric compact SUV, the Changan Nevo (Qiyuan) Q05, marking its formal entry into the rapidly expanding EV market. This new model is being offered in six different configurations, with prices ranging from approximately $11,200 to $15,400, making it a competitively priced option in the compact electric SUV segment. Changan positions the Q05 as a fully electric urban-friendly SUV, and depending on the variant, the model is capable of achieving up to 506 km of range under the CLTC testing cycle. Higher-end versions will also be equipped with LiDAR, enhancing their intelligent driving capabilities.

The exterior styling of the Q05 follows Changan Nevo’s updated “Digital Smart Wing 2.0” design philosophy. Its front end stands out with a sleek, full-width LED daytime running light that stretches across the top of the fascia, giving the vehicle a futuristic and unified visual signature. Buyers will have the option to select from five distinct exterior colours—Pine Green, Gilt Purple, Moonlight Silver, Cloud Shadow Grey, and Brocade White—allowing for considerable personalisation. Along the sides, the SUV features a charging port positioned on the front fender, along with semi-concealed door handles that contribute to the vehicle’s clean and aerodynamic appearance. Dimensionally, the Q05 measures 4435 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a 2735 mm wheelbase. The rear styling echoes the front with its own continuous light bar paired with a sizable roof spoiler for added sportiness.

Inside the cabin, the Nevo Q05 offers a driver-oriented, wraparound cockpit available in two interior colour themes: Jade White and Ink Black. At the centre of the dashboard sits a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen, complemented by a 10.17-inch digital instrument cluster that provides clear and vibrant driving information. The infotainment system supports both Apple CarPlay and Huawei’s HiCar connectivity, and it can even interface with Haier’s range of smart home appliances, enabling seamless smart-home-to-car control. One of the standout technologies is the “Tianshu” advanced driver-assistance system. High-trim models incorporate a LiDAR sensor along with a detection suite comprising 11 HD cameras, three millimetre-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. This combination allows for sophisticated driver assistance, including navigation-on-autopilot (NOA) functionality on highways and elevated city roads.

Comfort features are also a major highlight. The front passenger enjoys a “Queen’s Seat” setup, capable of reclining up to 165 degrees and equipped with an extending leg rest. Both front seats include heating, cooling, and massage modes. The cabin ambience is further enhanced by 256-colour ambient lighting, creating a personalized interior atmosphere.

Powering the Q05 is a front-mounted electric motor producing 161 horsepower. All models come equipped with CATL’s lithium iron phosphate battery packs, offering two CLTC range options: 405 km and 506 km. The SUV can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h and supports 3C fast charging technology, enabling drivers to add up to 120 km of driving range with just 15 minutes of charging.
