Buick debuted the new plug-in hybrid for Chinese market. The new model is called Velite 6 and uses dual electric motors along side with LG lithium-ion battery and 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine.
The power transfer to the wheels with a CVT transmission which results a fuel economy of 1.4 l/100km. Buick Velite also can travel 60 km on EV mode and the combined range is 780 km with a single tank and fully charged batteries.
Buick will produce the Velite 6 in cooperation with SAIC-GM. Velite 6 PHEV will enter the Chinese market by the end of this month.
