The BMW iX xDrive50 will be on sale in the United States as a Big Electric SUV in the first quarter of 2022, with a starting price of $83,200.
U.S. specified The BMW iX xDrive50 is equipped with a front electric motor that produces 268 horsepower and 352 Nm of torque, as well as a rear electric motor that produces 335 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. These motors produce 516 horsepower and 764 Nm of torque and are powered by a 106.3 kWh battery pack.
BMW claims a 4.6-second sprint to 100 km/h and a max speed of 200 km/h. The EPA-estimated range of the iX xDrive50 is 482 kilometers.
The BMW iX xDrive50 enables rapid charging at up to 200 kW using DC fast chargers, allowing its battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in under 40 minutes.
The iX xDrive50 includes a lift-related damping system that modulates shock stiffness based on suspension travel. Optional features include an adaptive suspension system with electronically regulated shocks and two-axle air suspension.
The iX boasts a 12.3-inch infotainment display, a 14.9-inch control display, BMW iDrive 8, an advanced Head-Up display, a hexagonal steering wheel, four-way automated temperature control, and a panoramic glass roof with a thin layer of film that varies the transparency at the press of a button.
The iX xDrive50 also includes a Harman Kardon audio system with 18 speakers and 655 watts of power, as well as two subwoofers and four speakers incorporated into the headrests as standard. As an option, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system with at least 30 speakers and 1,615 watts is available.
