Alfa Romeo recently unveiled the refreshed Tonale, and although the updated crossover made its global debut last month, it is preparing for another major milestone: its first North American appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Sharing the spotlight will be the stunning 33 Stradale, which is also set to make its debut at a North American auto show. While the styling changes of the facelifted Tonale have already been revealed, Alfa Romeo has now confirmed pricing for the 2025 model. The updated version will start at $36,995, not including a $3,250 destination charge. Altogether, the total entry price climbs to $40,245—an increase of $500 compared to the outgoing model.
For that higher price, buyers receive a number of visual and equipment upgrades. The facelift includes a redesigned grille and a more aggressive-looking front bumper, giving the crossover a sharper presence on the road. The color range has also been expanded, now offering eye-catching shades such as Giallo Ocra, Rosso Brera, and Verde Monza. Additionally, customers can opt for a contrasting black roof for a modest $95, adding extra flair to the exterior. Inside the cabin, Alfa Romeo promises enhanced materials, new color combinations, and refined trim details. Although the company has not disclosed every interior upgrade, the base Sprint trim comes equipped with LED lighting, gloss black exterior accents, and 18-inch wheels. The interior features aluminum pedals and cloth upholstery with contrast stitching—functional but not overly premium. For those who want a more upscale feel, a $1,995 Premium Package adds ventilated leather seats at the front, customizable ambient lighting, and a hands-free power liftgate.
Moving up the range, the mid-tier Tonale Veloce begins at $41,495. This version rides on larger 19-inch wheels and features red Brembo brake calipers for improved stopping power. Additional equipment includes a dual-mode suspension system, a hands-free liftgate, aluminum paddle shifters, and perforated leather seating surfaces. At the same price point, the Tonale Sport Speciale offers a distinctly different flavor. Aimed at customers who prioritize style, this trim features silver exterior details, gloss black Brembo calipers, and striking 20-inch wheels with a three-hole Alfa-inspired pattern. Inside, the Sport Speciale is distinguished by exclusive black-and-pearl Alcantara seats with white stitching, an Alcantara-wrapped dashboard, and unique ambient lighting themes.
Across all trims, customers can enhance their Tonale with several optional packages. These include a panoramic moonroof for $1,500, a Harman Kardon premium sound system for $750, and the $1,250 Active Assist Package, which bundles features such as Active Driving Assist, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a surround-view camera setup, and ParkSense parking assistance.
One of the most significant changes for the U.S. market is found under the hood. Alfa Romeo has decided to eliminate the plug-in hybrid powertrain from the American lineup. As a result, all U.S.-spec Tonales will now be powered solely by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine generating 268 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
Alongside the Tonale, the 33 Stradale will draw considerable attention. First revealed in 2023, the model is hand-crafted by the renowned Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. Inspired by the legendary 1967 Tipo 33 Stradale, the modern version features dramatic dihedral doors and a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque structure. Power comes from a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces an impressive 630 horsepower. The powertrain is coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels via an electronic limited-slip differential. Thanks to this setup, the 33 Stradale can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds and reach a top speed of 333 km/h, securing its place among the most exclusive and high-performance exotics on the market.
