2026 Hyundai Venue Debuts in India

The Hyundai Venue continues to be one of the brand’s most popular small SUVs, sold in nearly every global market except Europe, where the Bayon takes its place. Six years after its initial launch, the Venue enters its second generation in India, featuring a refreshed design, slightly larger dimensions, and a more technology-focused interior that brings it in line with Hyundai’s modern SUV lineup.

The exterior redesign draws inspiration from the smaller Hyundai Exter, replacing the previous sporty look with a rugged, squared-off aesthetic. Up front, the Venue now features a split headlight arrangement with “Twin Horn” DRLs, Quad Beam LEDs, and a full-width light bar, framed by a boxy grille and a metal-finished skid plate. From the side, the SUV adopts Tucson-style sculpted fenders, a glossy C-pillar garnish, and a more upright stance. Its dimensions have shifted subtly: the Venue is now 48 mm taller, 30 mm wider, and has a 20 mm longer wheelbase, stretching to 2,520 mm, while the overall length remains 3,995 mm for the Indian-spec version. The rear is characterized by full-width taillights reminiscent of Opel designs, complemented by a large skid plate covering much of the bumper. Despite the overall increase in height, the 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels appear relatively small, though taller roof rails enhance its SUV presence.

Inside, the curved panoramic display dominates the cabin, integrating dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation. The dashboard has been redesigned with modern air-conditioning vents, Venue lettering, and a new center console that retains physical HVAC controls in a contemporary layout. A new steering wheel features a four-dot emblem, reminiscent of the Ioniq 5. The interior color scheme combines Dark Navy and Dove Grey, accented with Moon White ambient lighting and leather upholstery. Practical improvements include reclining rear seats, sunshades, and rear A/C vents, with Hyundai noting additional legroom thanks to the longer wheelbase and scooped seatbacks.

Despite the updated styling and interior, the powertrain options remain unchanged. The Indian market offers a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter petrol producing 82 hp, a turbocharged 1.0-liter petrol with 118 hp, and a 1.5-liter turbodiesel generating 114 hp. Transmission options include a manual, torque converter automatic, or CVT, all powering the front wheels.

Hyundai plans to announce Indian pricing on November 4, with other markets following gradually. It remains unclear whether this second-generation Venue will be introduced in North America, but if it does, a launch would likely align with the 2027 model year, considering the current version’s recent 2026 update. This next-generation Venue combines modern design, enhanced technology, and practical interior upgrades, ensuring it remains competitive in the global small SUV segment.
