2025 Nissan Qashqai Revealed: A Pioneer in Crossover Evolution

Nissan's Qashqai has long been recognized as a trailblazer in the contemporary crossover trend, and now, its third-generation SUV receives a significant makeover both in style and technology to maintain its relevance in the market. This overhaul also serves to strengthen its familial ties with the Ariya EV.

While the powertrain options remain unchanged, offering buyers a selection between two 1.3-liter mild-hybrid engines producing 138 hp and 158 hp respectively, and a 187 hp 1.5-liter E-Power full hybrid, there's a noticeable absence of an all-electric or plug-in hybrid variant, a choice that Nissan has yet to introduce for the Qashqai.

The most conspicuous alteration is observed in the front fascia, bidding farewell to the v-shaped chrome grille and peculiar tuning-fork-shaped headlight and DRL arrangement. Instead, it embraces a larger, more aesthetically appealing mesh grille inspired by the chainmail armor of ancient Japanese warriors, complemented by concealed headlights and ultra-slim DRLs.

The revisions to the rear end are subtler, featuring a fresh set of rear LED lights and an adjusted bumper with a more dynamic lower section, enhancing the Qashqai's athletic stance. This effect is further heightened with the introduction of the new N-Design grade, which incorporates color-coordinated body trim and larger 20-inch wheels, replacing the standard 18s and 19s.

Among the notable enhancements is the updated Android-based infotainment system, now equipped with built-in Google Maps and Google Personal Assistant, offering users seamless connectivity and convenience. Furthermore, technological advancements are bundled with the Around View Monitor camera system, which now boasts a 3D function, providing drivers with a comprehensive view of their Qashqai from every angle, including an overhead perspective.

Additional features include an "invisible hood view" and "Parking Spot Location Memory," enabling the vehicle to autonomously park in frequently used spots. Moreover, the system can save the locations of intersections with limited visibility, automatically projecting an extra-wide angle feed onto the media screen without requiring manual activation from the driver.

The refreshed Qashqai is currently being produced at Nissan's Sunderland plant in the UK and is set to arrive at European dealerships imminently. However, despite its updates and improvements, Nissan has no intentions of introducing it to the U.S. market, leaving a gap between the all-new Kicks and Rogue models.
