SGMW’s Wuling Motors has officially expanded its Xingguang (Starlight) lineup with the debut of the all-new Xingguang 560, which made its public appearance at the Guangxi Nanning ASEAN International Auto Show. Positioned as a versatile and affordable family SUV, the Xingguang 560 enters the market in four different trims, with introductory pricing starting at 59,800 yuan and topping out at 98,800 yuan (approximately $8,400 to $13,900). One of the model’s standout strengths is its broad selection of powertrain options, as buyers can choose between a conventional gasoline engine, a plug-in hybrid system, or a fully electric drivetrain. In addition, the vehicle is offered in both five-seat and seven-seat layouts, giving customers greater flexibility depending on their family or lifestyle needs.
Visually, the Xingguang 560 adopts distinct front-end designs based on its power source. The gasoline and plug-in hybrid versions feature an open honeycomb-style grille, paired with black decorative accents surrounding the headlights and the lower air intake, creating a more traditional SUV appearance. In contrast, the fully electric variant uses a closed front grille, resulting in a smoother and more modern look that emphasizes efficiency and aerodynamic integration. In terms of size, the SUV measures 4,745 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and between 1,755 and 1,770 mm in height, depending on the version, while riding on a 2,810 mm wheelbase. Buyers can select from four exterior paint finishes—Interstellar Blue, Sunset Grey, Silver Frost White, and Obsidian Black—with optional two-tone combinations available for those seeking a more expressive design.
Inside the cabin, the Xingguang 560 carries over the familiar design philosophy seen in other models from the Xingguang family, including the Xingguang 730. The interior is built around a wraparound cockpit layout and features a dual-screen arrangement that includes a digital instrument display alongside a large 12.8-inch central touchscreen. This infotainment screen runs Wuling’s Ling OS operating system and supports multiple smartphone connectivity standards such as HiCar, CarLink, and DLNA, ensuring seamless device integration. Soft-touch materials are widely used throughout the interior, contributing to a more refined and comfortable atmosphere.
Seating versatility is another key highlight. Both five-seat and seven-seat configurations are available, and the front seats can recline nearly flat to form a continuous resting area with the second row. The second-row seats can also recline up to 128 degrees, enhancing comfort on longer trips. At the rear, the seats feature a 4/6 split-folding design, allowing owners to expand cargo capacity or transport longer items when needed.
Mechanically, the Xingguang 560 shares its powertrain lineup with the Xingguang 730. The plug-in hybrid version uses Wuling’s Lingxi Power 3.0 system, combining a 1.5-liter engine with a fourth-generation 10-in-1 electric motor. When operating with a depleted battery, it records a fuel consumption figure of 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers, while offering a pure electric range of 125 kilometers under the CLTC standard and a total driving range of up to 1,100 kilometers. The fully electric model is equipped with a 134-horsepower motor and a 60 kWh Shenlian battery, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 500 kilometers and an energy consumption figure of 13.6 kWh per 100 kilometers. Thanks to 2C fast-charging capability, it can gain up to 200 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes. The gasoline version relies on a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 174 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.
All variants of the Xingguang 560 are fitted with a MacPherson strut front suspension and a composite multi-link rear suspension. At launch, pricing is structured as follows: the 1.5T manual Comfort version starts at $8,400, the 1.5T CVT Elite at $10,300, the PHEV 125 km Luxury at $12,600, and the EV 500 km Luxury topping the range at $13,900.
