2022 Renault Austral Teased, The Successor Of Kadjar

The Austral has been teased in video form by Renault. In 2022, the Austral will replace the Kadjar as a C-SUV. Since our photographers shared the first batch in February, we've been keeping an eye on the next-generation Renault Kadjar. However, the firm with the diamond emblem is only now giving an official preview of its redesigned compact crossover ahead of its introduction next year.

Renault registered the new name in 2005, and it is taken from the Latin term "australis." The 2022 Austral, according to Sylvia Dos Santos, Renault's head of naming strategy, wears the new corporate symbol seen on the Megane E-Tech and proudly displays the model's classification in the center of the tailgate.

The teaser shows a portion of the Austral's tailgate, which reveals LED taillights similar to those found on the smaller Captur.

Renault has revealed that the Austral is 4.51 meters long, somewhat longer than the Kadjar's 4.45 meters. It is also somewhat longer than the Nissan Qashqai in terms of total length.

Most of the underpinnings of the next Renault Austral are believed to be shared with the current Nissan Qashqai and Nissan X-Trail / Rogue. It's also planned to offer a selection of electrified engines, including a plug-in hybrid.

Its hybrid powertrain might be similar to the Qashqai E-Power, which employs a combustion engine to charge the battery while an electric motor drives the wheels. It's uncertain if the Austral will follow suit.

The Renault Austral will be on sale in spring 2022, so we can anticipate a complete reveal before then, which means we're probably just a few weeks or months away from seeing it.
