2022 Jaguar F-Type Says Fairwell To Small Engines

Author: |

The 2022 Jaguar F-Type will be offered solely with a V8 engine, rather than a 4-cylinder or V6 engine. In terms of performance, the gentler P450 version Jaguar F-Type, which will be available in coupe or convertible body styles, will be driven by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 producing 444 horsepower and 580 nm of torque. For improved traction, power can be sent to either the rear wheels or all four wheels. It can accelerate to 96 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reach a max speed of 285 km/h.

Despite producing less power, the F-Type P450 is equipped with a typical electronic differential. The P450 will receive the same active exhaust function that closes valves when you want it quiet and instantly opens them to make it louder when you press the throttle hard.

The F-Type R remains untouched for the 2022 model year, which isn't necessarily a negative thing. The engine is the same, but it produces 575 horsepower and 699 nm of torque, which is distributed to all four wheels. It all contributes to the automobile reaching 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and a max speed of 300 km/h.

Standard features include 20-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch driver display, an electronically adjustable steering column, and a Jaguar emblem stitched into the headrests, as well as thin, LED headlamps, clamshell hood, and equally small taillights.

The R-Dynamic AWD model, which starts at $79,900, is $10,000 more expensive than the regular F-Type P450, which starts at $69,900.

The P300, which was formerly the lowest trim, began at $61,600 and included a 2.0-liter inline 4 with 296 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 3.0-liter V6 propelled the 380 horsepower P380 AWD. For the 2022 model year, neither will be available. The new cars are slated to be delivered beginning next month.
