Dongfeng Fengxing T5 EVO Review

In 2018, Dongfeng Fengxing released their first small SUV, the Dongfeng Fengxing T5. Dongfeng Fengxing's new design language is used in the new automobile, which is positioned as a small SUV. Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor manufactures the Forthing sub-brand.

The Forthing T5 EVO was introduced as a more sporty version of the Forthing T5 compact crossover suv.



The inside of the Dongfeng Fengxing T5 EVO has an integrated instrument panel and a big screen for central control. It employs not only the current fashionable twin 10.25-inch Dalian screen combo but also a flat-bottomed steering wheel.

The vehicle's interior will retain the vast space attributes of existing popular versions. The leather-wrapped flat-bottomed multifunctional steering wheel is comfortable to hold. The Fengxing T5 EVO also has NAPPA leather seats with massaging function, co-pilot boss buttons, armrest box refrigeration/heating, and other premium features that increase the car's comfort.

The center console has been hollowed down to accommodate a 12V power source, a USB interface, and a wireless charging panel. This layout is really user-friendly. The overall feel of the materials is fantastic. It's worth noting that the vehicle features carbon fiber texture ornamentation and red stitching in the central control area and door panel region, respectively.

The Dongfeng Fengxing T5 EVO features plenty of storage space inside, as well as spaces for mobile phones and water on each door panel. The Fengxing T5 EVO has a body size of 4565/1860/1690mm and a wheelbase of 2715mm, providing users with a roomy and pleasant driving experience. Furthermore, there are up to 37 storage places in the vehicle.

Dongfeng Fengxing T5 EVO's design is based on a brand-new design language known as "Feng Dynamic." Designers were inspired by the lion. The huge air intake grille on the front face is reminiscent of a lion's wide mouth opening as it roars, and the vents around both sides of the front face are reminiscent of a beast's teeth.

The popular T5 EVO's headlamps are extremely thin. Furthermore, the design of the daytime running lights is extremely distinctive, like a pointed dagger.

The new car rides on 19-inch dual 6-spoke black rims that are paired with 235/55 R19 Yokohama BluEarth-XT AE61 tires.



The Dongfeng Fengxing T5 EVO is powered by a Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi Engine Manufacturing Plant 4A95TD 1.5T engine with 192 horsepower and a 9.5-second acceleration time per 100 kilometers. The four-cylinder turbocharged engine produces 285 Nm of torque, which is delivered to the front wheels via a seven-speed DCT gearbox. For the time being, there is no AWD option.

Aside from fuel economy, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is just 6.6L.

It also has adequate power as compared to many other Chinese crossovers.

Dongfeng Vietnam is also planning to launch the Forthing T5 EVO in Vietnam in 2021.
