At Auto Shanghai 2023 in China, Hyundai unveiled the 2024 N version after introducing a facelift for the standard Elantra.
Hyundai has cosmetically altered the front bumper by removing some of the black highlights and replacing them with more body-colored surfaces. The grille appears significantly smaller as a result of being divided by a plastic piece that matches the body color, while the red strip at the bottom has moved up slightly in the middle. The hotter Elantra gets slimmer headlights and flanks a new metallic strip that forms a visual connection with the daytime running lights, as seen on the non-N variant. The dark Hyundai logo on the trunk lid lies above the rear wing, which appears to have been retained. With new 19-inch wheels and black badging, it retains the stylistic changes made to the standard model.
Although interior photos haven't been released, after seeing the 2024 Avante, we don't anticipate any significant interior changes for the Elantra N.
The sporty sedan has a 2.0-liter gasoline turbocharged engine under the hood. The four-pot in the pre-facelift model produces 276 horsepower and 392 Nm of torque. The two available transmissions—a six-speed manual and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic—should remain the same.
A complete debut is expected in the coming weeks. Hyundai has previously confirmed the existence of a next-generation Elantra N with a gasoline engine, but it is unlikely to be followed by an equal i30 N hot hatch.
