Seat Tarraco To Receive New Engine Powered By VW

Seat has introduced a new powertrain option for the Seat Tarraco compact crossover. The new engine which is sourced by the Volkswagen group, is a 2.0-liter turbo diesel TDI unit that can produce 148 hp and 360 nm of torque. Power sent to the front wheels with is 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission. Seat claims that the Tarraco 150 PS FWD DSG has the average fuel consumption of 6 to 5.4 l/100 km and its CO2 emission is between 140 and 157 g/km.

Seat also wants to introduce more engines for Tarraco. Probably the most important engine will be a 1.4-liter TSI plug-in hybrid engine with 147 horsepower connected to 114 horsepower electric motor. This plug-in hybrid unit has a combined output of 242 horsepower and 400 nm of torque. The PHEV Tarraco can hit 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and reach the top instead of 217 kph. This model will use 13 kWh battery pack that can provide 50 km of all-electric driving range.
