New Mercedes 2023 AMG GT Is Coming, The Tests Should Be Completed

Mercedes-AMG is working on a new iteration of its GT sports coupé, which will debut in 2023. The SL was developed wholly by Mercedes-performance AMG's division in Affalterbach for the first time, and the GT will effectively be a hard-top coupé version of that vehicle, sharing the majority of its underpinnings.

The visual modifications appear to be restricted to a more rakish rear roofline and a custom front grille treatment. Unique wheel designs, paint colors, and option packs might be offered when it is finally shown to further differentiate the automobiles.

In these photographs, it's unclear how different the GT's interior will be from the SL's.

The GT is likely to stick to the same recipe as its convertible sister. It sits on the same brand-new aluminum platform, which is said to increase transverse stiffness by 50%.

It's unknown if the GT will adopt a four-wheel-drive system like the SL, but it'll almost certainly employ the same rear-wheel steering system.

The current-generation GT is a two-seater only, while the SL, for the first time in several decades, has a pair of rear seats.

It will also feature the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 as the two SL models already unveiled, but in a more powerful state of tune, with 577bhp and 800 Nm for a 0-100 km speed of under 4.0 seconds.

Soon after, a plug-in hybrid GT 63e model will be released, powered by a derivation of the 831bhp electrified V8 found in the forthcoming AMG GT 4-Door Coupé PHEV.

As the launch date approaches, additional information will be released.
