Lantu Automobile is a part of Dongfeng and is the company’s EV brand with a super bright future. The company revealed on of it mass-produced and most important model, the Lantu FREE last December. Lantu design and builds high-end electric cars. It might be a young brand, but it is pretty mature. It features high-end technologies and innovative mechanism.

The FREE is the company’s first model, but it is pretty impressive. The wheelbase of the SUV is 2955mm. Right now, it is going through the pre-production phase, but will probably enter the market in the third quarter of 2021.

Design

Like other electric vehicles, the Lantu FREE features an enclosed design. There is this LED light strip that is connected to the central grid, which itself comes with a waterfall style. The Logo, the grille and headlights make the Free look super cool yet aggressive and strong. The new car’s size is 4905mm, 1950mm and 1690mm, which is pretty common for a SUV like Free. Overall, the design exterior design of the vehicle is sporty, unique and impressive, especially with the hidden door handles.

Cabin

Inside the cabin features a yacht style design. The color combination is so smart that implies the feeling of “luxury” and “innovation” both at the same time. The triple screen grabs some considerable amount of attention. The technology belongs to Huawei, since the chips come from there.

Specs

The FREE SUV is equipped with Dongfeng’s 1.5T four-cylinder engine and a power generator with the range of 60kW. The whole system produces 500kW and 1000 Nm of torque. It can hit the 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
