It is obvious the future belongs to electric cars with complicated inner designs but so minimalist for the users. Voice commands, self-drive systems, intelligent software all of them won’t keep Audi from using the knobs and buttons. Its not important in which era we are.
Recently Audi is teasing its three siblings electric concept cars. We saw the Skysphere and Grandsphere before. The third one is on the way. What is so significant here is using the Knobs and buttons in the Grandsphere. Audi kept these physical dials. The interior designer of Audi, Maksymilian Nawka, told:
“Audi was – and still is, but was maybe more so in the past – known for this joy of use, the haptic sensation when you push and toggle buttons. This is exactly what we wanted to bring back in the car, but combining it with the touch-less interaction with the car,”
Audi Grandsphere Concept is really futuristic. The 710 hp for a electric car is high rate. Also, it has the nostology feel too. The physical knob for climate control is mounted on the door cards. Perfect interior design is what we see in Grandsphere and beside that company promised a Level 4 autonomous driving if it goes on the production line.
By the way, the bigger sibling here, the Skysphere is up in the clouds and there are not any knobs and buttons. It uses mostly touch control. But that may change. Nawak claims, the production model of this roadster can’t be just the same as the concept. so, the realistic needs real items.
There is still another concept to be revealed. The last one is a crossover. However, Munich Motor Show is the best place for Audi to put the spotlights on the Grandsphere Concept.
