2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Revealed

months after its debut at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show, the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV eventually makes an appearance. GM's Ultium electric vehicle architecture will support an all-electric version of Chevrolet's Blazer mid-size to large SUV that will be offered in the US across four model grades: 1LT, 2LT, RS, and SS. The fully electric SUV was introduced in North America over the course of one night, and the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV will be the first General Motors electric product to have an SS badge.

Front-, rear-, and all-wheel-drive variations are on the way, according to Chevy, and the company is even developing a model expressly for law enforcement. The Blazer EV is built on the Ultium platform, which also supports GM's most recent electric vehicles and 2023 Cadillac Lyriq. The Blazer EV, however, is immensely distinctive since it will be available with front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive.

Although many contemporary EV platforms support applications with front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive, it's uncommon to find one vehicle that offers all three options.

The crossover can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in less than four seconds thanks to the dual-motor drivetrain in the SS variant, which can produce up to 557 horsepower and 878 Nm of torque.

The charging mechanism can handle 190 kW on a DC fast charger or up to 11.5 kW when plugged into a level 2 AC outlet. Although GM has stated that the Blazer's driving range varies between 400km for the 1LT and a maximum of 515kW in RS trim, while the SS can go for 465km on a single charge, no specific information regarding the Blazer's battery pack's size has yet been released.

The wheels of the 1LT and 2LT grades are 19 inches, while the RS's wheels are 21 inches and the SS's are 22 inches.

The RS also sports LED headlights on either side of a central light bar, 21-inch wheels, and an illuminated bowtie insignia. Together, the latter elements provide a coordinated animation as you approach or leave the car.

Adding to the safety suite that already includes automated emergency braking, lane-keeping aid, front pedestrian detection, and braking, and advanced park assist comes GM's hands-free Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system.

The cabin lacks a start button. Instead, the Blazer EV just has to be started by pressing the brake pedal after the car detects the key.

The car also has a distinctive SS grille, a front splitter, and enormous 22-inch wheels with Brembo front brakes.

No matter which trim is chosen, every Blazer EV has a powered charging port door that unlocks when pressed.

With expected starting costs of $47,595 and $51,995, respectively, the Blazer EV 2LT and RS go on sale. Later that year, for $65,995, the SS is delivered. In the first quarter of 2024, the 1LT joins the lineup at an anticipated $44,995.

In Q1 2024, the Police Pursuit Vehicle variant will also be available. The largest Ultium battery in the series will be included, and it will start with the SS grade.
