Nissan revealed the third-generation Qashqai earlier this year, and sales have already begun in Europe. The 2022 Nissan Qashqai will now arrive in Australia in early 2022.
The third-generation Qashqai is a substantial improvement over its predecessor and should be especially popular in Australia, where the outgoing model has established itself as the country's second best-selling compact SUV.
The new Qashqai is 35 millimeters longer, 32 millimeters wider, and 25 millimeters taller than the vehicle it replaces. The wheelbase has also been extended by 20 millimeters.
While Nissan Australia has yet to reveal details on the 2022 Qashqai, it has announced that it will be available in eight body colors and five two-tone combinations.
In the United Kingdom, the Qashqai line-up begins with a mild-hybrid 1.3-liter DiG-T turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 138 and 156 horsepower. This mild-hybrid system is distinct in that the internal combustion engine serves just like a generator and is not linked to the driven wheels. It's fair to presume that Australia will receive the same powertrain, but formal confirmation is still pending.
More local information, including cost, is anticipated to be released later this year.
