2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Updated With Bilstein Suspension

Mitsubishi has introduced an updated version of the Outlander crossover for 2021 and it will be on sale in Australia with a base price of AU$51,990 which is equal to US$37,328. On the highest trim, pricing can increase up to AU$60,990 or US$43,790.

Engine & Performance

Under the hood, the 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV uses a 2.4-liter petrol engine alongside two electric motors (one at the front and one at the rear). The ICE engine can produce 126 hp and 199 nm of torque while the front electric motor can pump out 80 hp and the rear one pumps out 93 hp. Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV also features S-AWC all-wheel drive system.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has a 13.8 kWh battery pack and it supports Type 1 and Type 2 plugs. Type 1 can charge the battery in three hours and the latter can charge it in 25 minutes via DC fast charger. Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV also supports a Vehicle-to-Home function which can provide electricity for the home.

Main Changes

The main change for the 2021 model year is Bilstein suspension that improves ride and handling. The Bilstein suspension comes standard on the GSR trim. Other highlights for the 2021 model include black painted front and rear skid plates, door mirrors and roof, new 18-inch black alloy wheels, and an 8-speaker premium audio system.
