2021 Cupra Ateca Is On The Way As A Non-Premium SUV

VW Group has many non-premium performance SUV on its line up from Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat and Cupra. The last brand is launched by Seat in 2018 as a sport division of Seat. Cupra now introduced another non-premium performance SUV which is the 2021 Ateca.

The 2021 Cupra Ateca is based on the facelifted version of the Seat Ateca with a refreshed front and rear. LED headlights, bumpers, and air intakes are all driven from Seat line up and look similar to the Seat Leon, Seat Tarraco, and Seat Ateca while the Cupra has more aggressive bumper with bigger air intakes as it is a performance car.

Other exterior features are 19-inch alloy wheels, dark-side folding mirrors, roof rails, mirror caps and quad tailpipes.

Inside, the cabin also looks similar to Seat products but features sport bucket seats from Dinamica, new steering wheel with paddle shifters, Cupra mode select button, aluminum pedals, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 9.2-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Powertrain

Cupra Ateca has a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine underpin that can pump out 300 hp and 400 nm of torque. The torque is available from 2,000 to 5,200 rpm. Cupra Ateca features the Akrapovic exhaust system as well. The tiny but powerful engine is connected to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission sending power to all four wheels.

Cupra Ateca can hit 100 kph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 247 kph. The 2021 Cupra Ateca benefits Dynamic Chassis Control system with six driving modes including Normal, Sport, Cupra, Individual, Snow and Off-road. Stopping power for the Cupra Ateca comes from ventilated Brembo brakes.
