Mazda finally announced pricing details for the turbocharged version of the Mazda3. The Mazda3 Turbo is the most powerful variant of the popular hatchback and it uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 227 hp and 420 nm of torque. These figures are on regular fuel and by using premium fuel the engine can pump out 250 hp and 433 nm of torque.
The engine is connected to a 6-speed automatic gearbox which transfers power to all four wheels as standard. Mazda hasn't released any data about its fuel economy, 0-100 kph acceleration or top speed.
Visual changes for the Mazda3 Turbo are gloss black grille, gloss black side mirrors cap, 18-inch alloy wheels, larger tailpipes and LED daytime running lights.
Inside the cabin there are rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, power moonroof, leather seats and steering wheels, paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8.8-inch infotainment screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, head-up display, Wi-Fi hotspot and 12-speaker Bose sound system.
Driver assistance systems for the Mazda3 Turbo includes radar cruise control with stop and go function, blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, smart brake support, lane departure warning, driver attention alert, adaptive front-lighting system and lane keep assist.
Pricing for the Mazda3 Turbo starts from $29,900 which is about $10,000 more than the base model Mazda3 and it is $1,305 more expensive than its main rival Volkswagen Golf GTi. while the Mazda3 Turbo is more expensive than the Golf GTi, it also offers more power as the GTi’s engine produces only 228 hp.
